Blogging

Great to see Mrs Brown’s English 2A class in the computer lab again today Block 3.  I was so happy that most students were able to independently login and begin writing their blogs.  Mrs Brown is busily reviewing your posts after a few hiccups.

Could you take a few minutes to answer a couple of questions about this project? My questions to you are:

“What advantages does blogging your journals have over the old fashioned paper and pencil method?”

“Have you or will you access your blog from home?”

Its alot quicker typing up a journal than to hand write it out and also its alot easier to read:). Another great thing about it is that i can access it at home.

I think having my reading journal online is alot faster and more convenient. I can access it at home and at school – its a very handy service. Im sure it also makes it much easier for Mrs Brown! :p

Blogging has the advantage of not writing drafts and in our case, able to have Mrs. Brown check over our work until it is due so that we are able to achieve the highest levels possible.\

I will only accesss my blog for school work, but yes, i wil acess it at home.

“What advantages does blogging your journals have over the old fashioned paper and pencil method?”
It allows me to access it anywhere at any time as long as i have the internet and i wont be needing to carry anything with me excepting my memory. It is also good because drafts are not required.

“Have you or will you access your blog from home?”
Yes i have and yes i will. It is really good.

    1) The advantage of blogging is that we don’t have to write, type, print, edit, print, add, print etc etc etc.

    2) I will access my blog from home… when my computer is fixed!

I think the online blogs are better then the old fashioned writing with pen and paper because we don’t have to worry about drafts, and it is easier. Also mrs Brown can comment on them so we can continue to make them better.

By using blogging you don’t need to use paper and pen, less things bring to school. We are also able to access it anywhere in the world! its hassle free, with no more extra work (drafts).
I might check it out at home.

For me as teacher this method means that I am not having to lug around masses of reading & viewing journals!! It also means that I can continually monitor these entries, which allows for comments throughout the year. I can read them from home and help them out with areas that need developing.

Very impressive start to this new method of reading & viewing!!

The advantages using blogging rather than paper and pencil is that it is a bit quicker, typing is faster than writing, and if you write something then re-read it and don’t like it you can just write straight over the top. The are no hassles of drafts so you only have to write it once and you can just edit it to improve after getting feedback.
I have accessed my blog from home to write my English journal.

    Ms. Olson,
Advantages over the previous over the previous system of pen and paper lies in the ability to immediatly submit work to Mrs Brown though the internet and while we have done the work we eliminate any chanced of losing our work and allways showing Mrs. Brown our Progress.
I will use this program at home, i think its a great idea!!!

  • 16    Naomi // Aug 24, 2006 at 11:54 am

well, i think that the new idea is great, easy and quick. As it saves on paper as well as time – well it wil,l once we all get to know how to use the programme sufficiuntly. I will most deffinaltely use this at home because i have acces to the internet it is just that at the moment my internet is not working at the moment.

The advantages of blogging on the computer is the speed of it. You dont have to write drafts which is really good and students without nice handwriting have a chance to make thier work nicely presented.

I have already accessed my blog from home.

Blogging is much better than the old fashioned way because you can post your blog, get mrs B’s comment then change your post rather than drafting then handing in 1 good copy (with no feedback) which Mrs B may or may not like. You dont HAVE 2 draft.
i have been meaning to go on my blog at home but i havn’t yet.
